The Boneschool is a free and comprehensive online orthopedic textbook. It was written in 2008 and went online in 2009. It has been edited in full 4 times, and has over 6000 images on 1100 web pages.
Boneschool is written and edited by Dr Tim Dwyer.
The target audience is orthopedic registrars / residents studying for fellowship examinations.
Boneschool believes that orthopedics is a visual specialty - for this reason all pages have a focus on xrays, CT, MRI and clinical photos to accompany text.
The fifth edition is currently underway in 2022. New updates include links to Pubmed references, surgical technique guides, and Vumedi surgical technique videos.
An important new addition will be practice exam stations and MCQs for all relevant topics.
